Well that was crazy. But now that the madness of Black Friday is finally over, we can all re-focus on the more important things—like all of the local craft fairs popping up around the city right now!
If you’re craving a little more holiday-themed shopping (or if you’re just looking for something to do), then consider checking out one of these events:
1. The 29th Annual Out of Hand Artisan Fair
This one’s going on all weekend long at the Victoria Conference Center. Now in its 29th year, you’ll be able to find a blend of artisan crafts, fashion, decor, artwork, and most importantly, food. This event has been around a lot longer than Black Friday has, so consider stopping by if you’re tired of all of the retail stores. One-day admission is $9, with seniors and students enjoying a $2 discount (kids are free). Doors open at 10am today. For more info, check out their Facebook page.
2. The 3rd Annual Magic of Christmas craft fair
Everyone knows that Langford is the next big thing in real estate, so it’s only fitting that they’d also have a holiday craft fair of their own. Held at City Centre Park, this event takes place on Saturday and runs from 10am to 4pm. Admission is by donation (all proceeds go to charity). With 80 vendors, this craft fair boasts everything from crafts, clothing, jewelry, bath & body, home furnishings, food, and more! Find out more on their Facebook page.
3. The Craft Cartel Indie Crafts Market
This one features top crafters and designers from across the island, and you can also see music and drink local craft beer all in one place. Admission is $4, and the first 75 people in the door get a special goodies bag. Find out more at their Facebook page. You can join the fun over at 195 Bay Street, over in the Vic West area—but hurry, because it only runs from 10am to 5pm today!
4. The 9th Gingerbread Showcase at Parkside Hotel and Spa
We’re realtors, so we just had to bring up a gingerbread HOUSE event, didn’t we? Think again—this gingerbread showcase is about way more than just gingerbread houses! With this year’s theme being ‘Celebrating Canada,’ this is one of the last events of the year related to Canada’s 150th birthday.
This year’s gingerbread showcase is taking place at the Parkside Hotel in downtown Victoria (810 Humboldt Street). It runs from now until January 2nd, so you could visit multiple times if you wanted to! Admission is by donation, with proceeds going to support Habitat for Humanity, and doors open at 9am every day. It’ll be interesting to see what they’ve baked up this year! Check out their event page here.
That’s all we’ve got, so you’d better get going before it’s too late.
